Hey, Mama! I get it, pregnancy is hard, postpartum is hard, breastfeeding is hard, and parenting (in any stage) is hard!
Let’s be friends, mama! I’m Courtney a postpartum nurse (AKA mother-baby nurse!) with a passion for education. I’m also a mom of 2 (almost 3!) sweet babies. After having my first baby I realized that things do not come completely naturally. Actually I had to go to weekly lactation help for the first few months just to learn how to breastfeed!
A lot of times it is assumed that moms will just figure out what they’re doing along the way and they don’t need help. Boy is that wrong! I needed all the help. I took sleep courses because I had a newborn that wouldn’t sleep. Can you believe they have wake windows you should follow to help them sleep?! I sure couldn’t when I first learned this with my oldest.
Things just don’t come to us naturally because we have a baby. I’m so excited to share my knowledge that I’ve gained as a postpartum nurse and a mom to help you not feel so alone in this time.
Not to mention you will then have toddlers! How do you prepare your toddler for their new sibling? How do you hold onto nap time a little longer so that you can have 2 hours of well deserved peace and quiet to work or rest? (Enter quiet time for toddlers which is quite frankly one of the best pieces of advice I have received!)
I’m here to be a resource for you as you enter motherhood for the first time (or even second or third time!). There is no judgement here, just a place to come as a community of moms who know that being a full time mom is hard! We are here for each other and there to help each other be the best moms we can be.
