Celebrating Valentine’s day right after Christmas can be a struggle. It’s hard to decide what to get your kids, especially after they just got so much! Boys can be even harder to buy for on Valentine’s day. Here is a Valentine’s Day gift basket for boys guide.

What Needs to Be in a Valentine’s Day Gift Basket for Boys?
The best part about this holiday is there are NO expectations! You can go as all out as you want or do something small! I typically do small gift baskets for my kids and don’t go too extravagant.
Here’s what I put in my gift baskets for my kids:
- A book
- A pair of pajamas or an outfit
- A stuffed animal
- A toy
- Candy
It does not have to be a lot by any means. What’s most important to me is showing my kids that I love them and spoiling them a little bit.
If you are looking to start a tradition with your kids, without doing an entire gift basket check out my blog post Valentine’s Day Traditions to Start with Your Kids.
Here are Some Ideas for His Gift Basket
A Gift Basket– A gender neutral valentine’s day basket is perfect! This is great because it is reusable and you won’t have to buy a new basket every year.
Valentine’s Day Pajamas– I am a sucker for a good pair of holiday themed pajamas! Especially if they are a family matching set so that we can all get a pair!
Books– My kids love to read, so it is so important to me to make sure they get a book anytime they get gifts! These are a few cute Valentine’s Day or I love you theme books: I Wheelie Love You, I Love You Like No Otter, Happy Valentine’s Day Little Critter, and Little Blue Truck’s Valentine.
Red and White Teddy Bear– A gender neutral stuffed animal is great for little boys!
Sesame Street Socks– These are a very practical gift which I LOVE! And they have red (elmo socks) which kind of keeps on the Valentine’s Day Theme.
Coloring Book for Boys– A fantastic idea for young boys! It has everything a boy would want to color from trucks to dinosaurs.
Crayons– If you are going to get a coloring book, getting some new crayons is a great option as well!
Dot Art Book– This is one of my oldest’s favorite things to do! It is great for hand eye coordination as the child has to get the dot marker in the circle. And it is just plain fun for kids!
Dot Markers– You need dot markers to do the dot book!
Construction Vehicles– Some construction vehicles/cars will always be a hit with toddlers! We keep one in our diaper bag for when we are at church. With a car or two, our children can stay occupied while I finish watching the sermon in the lobby if they get antsy in the service!
Writing Tablet– This is a great affordable option to add to a Valentine’s Day Gift basket for boys. It is an alternative to screen time, especially for car rides. My kids love to color/draw, so this is a must have!
Paw Patrol Paint Set– If your child is a little older this can be a great item to add to his Valentine’s Day basket!
Please remember, you do not have to put all of this stuff in a basket for you child! Don’t feel overwhelmed or stressed because of finances. Remember Valentine’s day is a fun holiday, not something that should cause stress! Your kids will know you love them and appreciate however you plan to show them!
